  Case Folder: Long Distance Wholesaler - Internal Fraud
An FPSS long distance retailer advised its wholesaler that FPSS reports had exposed internal fraud within the wholesaler. The wholesaler queried its fraud detection system, found no unusual activity, and ignored the retailers' FPSS report. Sixty days later, the wholesaler called back. $1-2 million had been lost from the same area FPSS had alarmed after 20 minutes. Case Folder: 800 Service Provider - Subscriber fraud
An 800 business customer with call forwarding operated normally for 60 days. FPSS paged a supervisor when long international calls began one Friday night. After no response, FPSS paged a manager. He logged in remotely shutting down the subscriber after two hours of international fraud. Had FPSS not alarmed this violation, losses would have reached $400,000 by Monday morning.

Case Folder: Long Distance Carrier - Calling Card Fraud
A subscriber's personal calling card averaged $150 per month for 90 days. When usage jumped to a $2-4,000 rate per month, FPSS alarmed it alarmed it immediately. But the customer said his card's weren't stolen and shouldn't be cancelled. However, when invoiced he would not pay his bills as "the calls were not his."
